![]() I have no desire to buy cds or vinyl anymore which is what I have been waiting for! That is for the next chapter for me to experiment with.įor me now it’s so crystal clear now how muddy sounding my cds are now.and how inaccurate vinyl actually is.Qobuz if you were a 100 dollars a month I’d still keep you. I doubt if having more detail out of something that is "imperfect" to begin with, will do anything positive in achieving better sound. ![]() It is my feeling that it can, but only if you take the very best mastered recordings to start off with. The next step is to see if it can be taken to yet another level with even higher quality sources. It took all of my time to get get to this point, where the system could be endgame with these sources that I have and use. I could come close, but that was it.Īnother interesting thing that I found, is that the Pandora lossy music sounded better than the same music on the majority of either CD's or records. The best engineering and masterings are just as breathtaking as the best I could get from CD's and records.īut in none of the sources was I able to get the best sound out of the majority or recordings. Not that this is bad or obviously inferior sounding, because it does sound really good, but it doesn't take things the little extra way as the very best engineered and mastered CD's and records will perform with the endgame single ended amps.īut the interesting thing is, that Pandora is, at best, 192-kBPS AAC.Ĭommon sense would indicate that there is no way, that compressed lossy audio could actually compete with the best that uncompressed Redbook CD's or newly remastered recordings could achieve.īut to listen to Pandora through a good system, it can sound as good as other high quality uncompressed music. When you get anything but the best of these sources, then the differences between high quality class A/B amps becomes on parity with the single ended amps and you really are pressed to tell the difference between A/B and single ended technology. ![]() And that is with single ended tube amplification. ![]() So, all of my resources have gone into delivering the best sound for records and CD's, which I have achieved to a high degree of realistic reproduction.Īs I have noted, only about 1/3 of either records or CD's are truly the best quality to yield that extra special audio that we seek out. Click to expand. In putting together my system and working toward my goal of better sound quality, I first had to put together a system that would, within reason, provide a high quality sources, both with records and CD's, so that I could compare the difference for myself in the analog and digital, which is best debate. ![]()
